In Indianapolis, police had to smash the windows of a car to get two toddlers out after a woman had left them there to go buy Nike’s new Air Jordan 11 Retro shoes. She was taken into custody when she returned, according to the AP.
In suburban Seattle, police used pepper spray on about 20 customers who started fighting at the Westfield Southcenter mall over the Air Jordan shoes.
Fighting over Nike’s Air Jordan is nothing new. Some people were mugged or even killed for early versions of the shoe, created by Nike Inc. in 1985.
One woman who was trampled while shopping for the basketball shoe was asked if it was all worth it. “Yes,” the woman replied. “As long as my kids get what they need on Christmas.”
Merry Christmas, idiots!
