The Ring Stays On! – Seal Talks Divorce Deets on Today’s Episode of Ellen

Those of you who, like me, counted Seal and Heidi Klum as one of your fave celeb couples (the crazy Halloween parties are enough to make me adore them) will be dying to catch today’s episode of Ellen, where the singer opens up about his impending divorce.

Despite initial reports of it being a separation, TMZ broke the story that Klum is in fact filing, and conducted secret meetings to shop around for several divorce attorneys before selecting one to represent her.

According to advance spoilers, Seal kept things classy and took the high road (unlike some other recently separated couples; I could sit here and throw shade at some in particular but come on, there’s been like, a wave of celeb divorce announcements in the past month, so it could be anyone; what’s with 2012 being the year to split? I’m rambling) with nothing but kind words for the mother of his children.

There’s a lot of back and forth as to what exactly caused the split, with many “inside sources” claiming Seal’s violent temper was to blame and just as many “un-named sources” denying that was the cause.

I have to admit I’m still hoping they can make it work. And judging by Seal’s refusal to remove his ring, I’m thinking he’s hoping for the same:

“I think it’s just pretty much a token of how I feel about this woman… We have eight years. Eight wonderful years together. Just because we have decided to separate doesn’t necessarily mean you take off your ring and you’re no longer connected to that person… Will we wear the ring for the rest of our lives? Who knows? But right now it feels really comfortable on my hand so I have no intentions of taking it off anytime soon.”

Technically, “separation” DOES mean you’re no longer connected to that person, but I’m going to give Seal a pass since I’m rooting for the guy.
