Now Kilgore and the Allen group take on the musical canon of another singer, with the Feinstein’s show “The Jazzy Side of Judy Garland.” Among the selections Kilgore will perform: “The Man That Got Away,” “The Boy Next Door,” “The Trolley Song,” and “The Joint Is Really Jumpin’ at Carnegie Hall.”
As much as I liked Kilgore’s Monroe show, I think the Judy Garland repertoire—which is both larger and more wide-ranging—will provide a better showcase for Kilgore’s elegant and sure-footed interpretive skills.
Kilgore will perform the show ten times between July 31 and Aug. 11. If you’re going to be in the NYC area and those heart strings of yours haven’t gone zing lately, I suggest you go online and see about tix.
